Best New American Voices nominee K. Wergland has been published in Boston Literary Magazine, The Long Story, Phoebe, The Pinch, The Urbanite, and other magazines. She holds an MFA from Vermont College and a BA in writing from Emerson College.

Before she worked at Houghton Mifflin, she served popcorn in a movie theatre. For a while, she waited tables at a resort in the Berkshires where bison wandered the grounds. The bulk of her career was spent in marketing.

Along the way, K. circumnavigated the globe, had a baby in the car, and found true love (not in that order). She lives on the edge of Boston with her family.
